OUR VISION
FOR FRIENDS
OF KCC
KCC plays a vital role in the South Hams and is thriving, with strong academic outcomes and a commitment to helping every student succeed. KCC also believe education is about more than just academic success, it’s about preparing young people to flourish in life, work and society, through a varied enrichment, welfare and career programmes.
No two students are the same. Each have their own personalities, learning style, ambitions, hobbies, challenges and needs from the college. We feel, this diversity is what makes KCC such a vibrant community - but it also brings challenges. Like many schools nationally, KCC is affected by ongoing pressures on education funding. This can create difficult choices between delivering targeted academic support and interventions, and providing wider enrichment opportunities for all students.
This is where Friends of KCC can make a real difference, and it’s not just about raising funds.
We believe the college is an essential asset in our community and investing - whether through time, expertise, funding or support - in young people is one of the most important things we can do, not only for students today, but for the long-term strength of our community.
We are a charity (charity number 275587) established to support the college in expanding its offer and helping turn its aspirations into reality. By working together with the Kingsbridge Community College Trust, parents and carers, alumni, local businesses, and the wider community, we aim to enhance opportunities, reduce barriers, and enrich the experience of every student at Kingsbridge Community College — both inside and beyond the classroom.
Can you help us create brighter futures for young people in our community?
Together, we can make a lasting difference and continue to provide the very best opportunities for students to thrive.

OUR AIMS

To be a CATALYST for the college’s ambitions, by fundraising to:

Increase capacity to offer more activities, academic interventions and provision to help students succeed academically.
-
To aid extra-curricular activities to provide opportunities for students to explore their interests and skills found outside the classroom.
-
Update and provide new college facilities and equipment to ensure students have access to the best resources.
-
Make sure every student has equal access to opportunities, no matter their background.

To CONNECT students to opportunities, experience and networks:

Help grow the Discovery Careers Programme and enable more meaningful interactions between students and professionals, and prepare for the world for work and society.
-
Create an entrepreneur and mentorship programme.

To celebrate our COMMUNITY:

Build a strong alumni network to connect former students.
-
Run events for students, parents and carers, and the wider community to bring people together and celebrate.

We believe, stronger education benefits everyone
Better outcomes for young people
A well-resourced college will help young people develop skills, confidence and resilience that will help them succeed beyond their education.
A more skilled future workforce
Preparing students for further education, training, and employment.
A positive impact on the
local community
The college is at the heart of the community. We believe investing in education leads to healthier communities, stronger local economies, and reduced future pressures on public services
